PROFILE

Our Purpose: To form Christian leaders who will transform society.

Our Approach: To help students develop a solid foundation based on character, faith, social responsibility, problem-solving, and critical thinking; to build confidence through athletics, public speaking, performing, and mentoring, and to learn to share through service to the community and each other.

Class Size: With an average class size of 16 students, teachers are able to ensure individual attention to every student.

Enrollment: Over 300 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

Gender Specific Education: International studies and Catholic tradition affirm the advantage of single-sex education. This environment best serves the learning styles of each gender. Woodmont educates boys and girls separately from third through eighth grade.

Affiliation: Woodmont Academy is affiliated with the National Consultants for Education (NCE), the Legionaries of Christ and is a member for the National Catholic Education Association.

Academic Year: The academic year is comprised of 36 weeks divided into nine-week quarters. Report cards are sent home at the end of the second and fourth quarters. In addition to grade reports, all students receive a progress report at the mid-point of each quarter.

Exceptional Academics: Woodmont students rank in the top 18% of private schools nationally and the top 15% compared to public schools in standardized achievement tests (SAT 9).

Varsity and Recreational Athletics: Woodmont offers athletic programs for students in kindergarten through eighth grade that reflect the same level of excellence achieved in the classroom. Students can participate in inter-mural (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball, and intramural basketball, soccer, and indoor hockey. In addition, Woodmont holds a golf clinic at a nearby course.

Outstanding Fine Arts Program: Woodmont has a Chorus for students in grades three through eight, and also hosts an Instrumental Band program for students in those grades.
